I DID IT!!

Man!!! Life can have some highs and it can have some lows. Towards the end of last year I experienced some lows. I went through somethings which I will soon share. Sometimes when going through something you unconsciously go into a depression. Depression can come in different forms and you may not always be able to spot it at first. Well, I was unconsciously going through depression. How did I know?!? Because, I stopped doing something that I loved….working out. I had a routine of getting up in the mornings and working out. I lost a significant amount of weight in the process and I was feeling good. Then, I fractured my foot and rested for a month or two. I couldn’t pull myself to get back in there. I got so consumed with life’s stresses that I just began to unconsciously eat. That’s what I do when I’m stressed . I stress eat. I’m mean I was eating everything. Candy, chips, pop. You name it, I was eating it. I didn’t feel good about myself at all. I kept saying. Next week I’m going to start going to the gym. Next week became months. It wasn’t until one day I was looking for an outfit and realized “I CAN’T  FIT ANYTHING!!”. I looked in the mirror and I didn’t recognize the woman looking back at me. I thought “I need to get back to me”. I happened to run across a YouTube that was title “Be intentional about being the person you want to be”. So, I finally did it. Yesterday, even though mentally I wasn’t feeling it but I knew I needed to start. So I put on my workout clothes and went to the gym. I went in there. Nobody was there. I took my AirPods out and found my old workout playlist and started the treadmill. At first, I was like “why are you here?” “Go back upstairs you’re too tired” I shut that down real quick. I got my first cardio workout in. I am so proud of myself because I took that first step. Now I have the motivation to keep going. I have definitely struggled in this area. I start working out and then I quit. No more quitting. I’m moving forward.

Has there been any areas in your life that you’ve struggled with? Have you lost all motivation to start? Let me know in the comments.

You can do whatever you set your mind to. You’re in control of your body. You can use this in your everyday life. Don’t give up. If you fail and have to start again SO WHAT! At least you are starting. Let’s get it!!

Am I Trusting God?

I'm realizing after prayer and being around other prophetic people that there has been a constant theme that I've been hearing about myself and that is I need to completely trust God and that I need to be still and know that He is God. Trust is a firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something. The biblical definition of Trust is   the confident, active reliance on God's character and promises, rather than on human strength or understanding. I often quote the scripture Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not unto thine own understanding but in all of your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your pathway. Out of my mouth I say that I trust God and I tell myself I trust God but, in my heart, it tells a different story. Sometimes I allow what I see to override what God said. What does that look like. I can tell myself all day that I trust, I know you can do it God and then when a hard situation comes, I begin to worry and ...

My Jar is full!

Man! The last couple of weeks have been interesting to say the least. For those that don’t know I have been on a raw food diet for a few weeks now. It has definitely been a challenge but I have seen a tremendous change in myself. Just having the self discipline to even embark on this journey has truly been God orchestrated. It has been some serious detoxing going on. My life has changed and I’m loving it. Listen this one is a long one. Enjoy 😉. Whenever you do this type of diet, you detox not only your body but you detox mentally as well. The last two weeks I have experienced crazy anxiety beyond what I’ve ever experienced. That is one of the side effects so I had to go through it. I couldn’t talk to anyone about it because what I was going through was more so spiritual than anything. Last night I allowed myself to feel whatever it was. The feeling that I was feeling was “grief”. I stood against my kitchen wall and I began to talk to God about what I was feeling. I told God I was tire...

My Cycles

Chill! Chill! I know it’s been a minute. Your girl is finally back where she belongs! I’ve missed you all. I’ve started a few posts but didn’t feel great posting them. This one is one I needed to post. I pray and hope that this resonates with at least one person.  As we are in this final quarter of the year, I’ve begun to reflect on the year I’ve had so far. This year has been a year of tremendous change for me. If I’m being honest in the beginning, I didn’t think I was going to make it. The road ahead just looked way too hard for me. I honestly didn’t think I even had the strength to go through. Keyword: “I”. I didn’t have the strength but where I felt weak God made me strong (Joel 3:10). This has been a true healing journey for me. I’ve watched God take me through every moment of pain in my life and help me process through. In my isolation, I was able to hear his voice more clearly. He showed me different areas in my life that I needed to change. He helped me to be bolder and cre...
